MC microbiological safety cabinet class II, based on 20 years of experience in the development and production, ensures the highest level of protection for the operator, provides clean working conditions and protects the environment from contamination. Operator safety and comfort are paramount.

The cabinet series MC is protective vertical cabinet with unidirectional air distribution and assures protection of operator, product and environment. Cabinet is designed, built and tested in accordance with EN 12469:2000 and DIN 12980:2005 standards.

Description and working principle:

The cabinet takes part of the air (approximately 30%) from environment and returns it back purified through absolute exhaust filter. Exhaust air can also be led through exhaust connection to a facility exhaust system. Approximately 70% of the air recirculates through absolute filter placed above working area – working filter.

Air enters in to the cabinet from the front side, through front opening and through slots in the working segments. Below segments the fresh air from environment and recirculating air are mixed. Mixed air further goes through inlet absolute filters quality H14 (EN 1822), built in below working segments – tree-stage filtration MC ..-3.
Furthermore, the air travels through the return channel in the upper negative pressure plenum and enters the overpressure hood. Part of the air (app. 30%) fan pushes through exhaust filter quality H14 (EN 1822) back to environment (or is led by exhaust connection to a facility exhaust system), rest of the air (app.70%) fan pushes through filter placed above working area quality H14 (EN 1822) and through perforated distributor in to working area. Ratio of the exhaust and recirculating air is provided through the area ratio between exhaust filter and filter placed above the working area.

Distribution grid spreads air over the whole work area into vertical, unidirectional flow. Unidirectional air flow carries with it dust particles generated at the manipulation with materials on working surface. In front of the chamber, between the operator and the particle generation location, the air curtain is carried out and separates cabinet working area from environment.
The air curtain protects work area from potential external contamination and prevents escape of generated particles out of working area.

Type MC ..- 3, have integrated additional set of absolute filters below the working segments. They protect filters above working area and exhaust filters so those filters are not subjected to the contaminated dust particles and consequently to replacement because of particles overload. Filters below the working segments can be replaced within the work area while cabinet is running in working mode. Filters are properly packed in a secure container within a work space. Access to these filters is easy and safe without risk to service personnel and without possible contamination of environment. The chamber is designed primarily for work with dangerous, high risk micro-organisms, substances that are very dangerous for the operator and the environment.
